What is BPA's Approach? A Parent's Guide

Sarah Mensah · Lead Educator 5 min readMarch 15, 2024
If you've heard about BPA but aren't sure what makes us different, this guide breaks it down in plain language — our environmental focus, academic standards, and what to expect for your child.

The Idea Behind BPA

BPA was established by Bui Power Authority to nurture responsible global leaders who are sensitive to the environment and society. Our approach combines academic excellence with environmental awareness, creating students who understand sustainability and act on it.

Unlike traditional schools where environmental topics are an afterthought, environmental sensitivity is woven into everything we do — from science lessons to school events, from our campus design to our daily routines.

What Makes Our Approach Different?

Walk into any classroom at BPA and you'll see children engaged with real-world environmental concepts. They're not just learning about recycling — they're running recycling programmes. They're not just reading about renewable energy — they're building small solar-powered models.

Environmental awareness integrated across all subjects
Hands-on projects: tree planting, recycling, energy conservation
Community engagement: students lead local environmental campaigns
Respect for pace: each child develops at their own speed
DADT framework: Discovering And Developing Talents — including leadership in environmental action

A Typical Day at BPA

Imagine a child arriving in the morning. They hang their bag, greet their teacher, and check the classroom's recycling station — because they're responsible for sorting waste that day. In science, they're learning about solar panels. In English, they're writing persuasive letters about protecting local forests.

Every subject connects to the real world. Every lesson has a purpose beyond the test. And every student knows that what they learn today can help them change the world tomorrow.

Education is not preparation for life — education is life itself. And at BPA, we teach children to live with purpose and care for the planet.

Is BPA Right for Your Child?

If you want your child to excel academically, understand environmental issues, and develop confidence as a responsible global leader — then yes.

The best way to know is to visit. Watch our students working. Talk to our teachers. See the campus. You'll feel the difference the moment you walk through the gate.
